Shangri-La Opens Hotel in Paris

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts first hotel in Europe.

Shangri-La’s new Parisian hotel which opened on December 17th is located at 16th arrondissements close to some of Paris’ most famous landmarks including the Arc de Triomphe, the Avenue des Champs-Elysées, the Place de la Concorde and the Jardin des Tuileries. The hotel features balconies for half of the rooms with unobstructed views of either the Eiffel Tower or the River Seine.

The hotel’s building was constructed in 1896 for Napoleon‘s grand-nephew Prince Roland Bonaparte and was restored by the prominent architect Richard Martinet.

There are 81 rooms in total including 27 suites designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon with a penthouse ‘Suite Panoramique’ that’s over 100 square metres (1,076 square feet) of outdoor decking area alone.

Restaurants at the Shangri-La Paris hotel includes La Bauhinia, an all-day dining restaurant and lounge; a French gourmet restaurant called L’Abeille; and the city’s first gourmet Cantonese restaurant, Shang Palace, which will open in early 2011.
