Hotel Rooms: The Waldorf Hilton, London

By Butterboom Writers  /  October 15, 2010

An Edwardian hotel located next to London’s Theatreland.

Built in 1908 and renovated in 2004, this city hotel is spread over 8 floors and contains around 303 rooms and 6 suites. The Waldorf Hilton is located in the cultural hub of London, the Theatreland, close to the Thames River and is a 5 minute walk from shopping in Covent Garden.

This is a hotel that caters to both international tourists as well as those living in other parts of the UK who are visiting London to see a play at one of the 40 theaters spread around the area. The Edwardian-designed hotel features rooms and bathrooms that are spacious for a London hotel and is equipped with modern amenities one would expect from a five-star Hilton hotel.

The highlight of the hotel would have to be the elegant and theatrical restaurant, Homage Grand Salon, which features Louis XVI style designs with tall gold gilded pillars and chandeliers set against a high ceiling grand ballroom dining area where breakfast is served by attentive wait staffs. Equally quaint is the Homage Patisserie, a perfect little tea room to have afternoon tea or coffee. This room features original Waring & Gillow paneling, period furniture and heavy rich fabrics and is a great quiet retreat from the bustling city of London.

How much?
