Love fresh almond milk but think that making it yourself is difficult? It is. Forget the pre-packed stuff you get at the supermarket, they contain additives and preservatives to keep it good for months. There is now a way you can make your own almond milk at home. Someone’s solving this problem. The answer is – Almond Cow, a Kickstarter project that lets you make almond milk at home in just 30 seconds.
How does it work?
Forget messing about about strainers. The Almond Cow is a blender of sorts that work the same way a coffee grinder works. Designed specifically for almonds and other hard tree nuts, it uses a durable stainless steel blade that is custom designed to dice the almonds efficiently and circulate water rapidly through the vortex it creates. Water then passes through the almond pulp where it picks up the nutrients in the almonds and flows out of the filter cup.
How long does the entire process take? A cool 30 seconds only where you’ll get 1.3 liters of ready-to-drink almond milk. Pretty neat, huh? And clean up is super easy too – just rinse the blade and wash the filter cup under a running tap. Make sure to soak ½ cups of almonds for four hours or overnight, and you’ll get fresh almond milk any day of the week.
Almond Cow is currently available on Kickstarter. Pledges start at USD120 (HK$931) for one unit.
