Today’s iPhone/Apple News Round-Up

Apple is reporting that they have crossed the 1,000,000 iPhones sold mark a few weeks before they expected. Using our calculator superior-intellect we figure that to be 13,513 a day – everyday for the past 2 months and 2 weeks.

With the new iPhone price drop you can expect Apple to hit that 10 million sold mark by the end of next year without a sweat. And to entice more to use it, Apple is mulling over dropping the price of single episodes on iTunes from US$1.99 to just 99 cents which is the same price as their songs, which to us seems like an incredible deal comparing a 22-44 minute video to a 3-minute song. This is probably what made NBC drop out of the iTunes store and move over to Amazon (see our next story)

And what seems to be really moving forward is the idea of an iTunes movie rental store where you can rent movies for $2.99 for 30 days that was first rumoured at in June. Another great idea from Apple, because even 16GB is going to fill up fast.
