Lagom is a modern Scandinavian store that’s just opened in Prince Edward Road West, adjacent to the Flower Market Road in Mongkok. Next to half a mile of flowers, potted plants and pots, the new shop offers a curation of the best hand-picked Scandinavian designer brand home deco, accessories and tableware, many exclusively available in Hong Kong at Lagom.
Founders’ Lars and Hilda expresses that Lagom in Swedish means enough, sufficient, just right. This is our guideline when choosing homewares to our shop” says Lars and Hilda. The store carries beautiful and unique designs with a Nordic twist bringing in Scandi brands like Anderssons, creator of steel bowls/candle holders; Bengt&Lotta, traditional interior designs. Most of the items stocked are produced by hand in Sweden like the black/white ‘Foldabowl’ fruit/flower basket and recycled glass vases, the ever-practical colourful ‘Dish cloths’ common in Scandinavian homes. Check out also tableware and lifestyle brand Saara, which is designed by a HK-based Finnish designer. The clean-lined stoneware mugs, cups and plates are well suited for both everyday and special occasions, and make delightful Xmas gifts.
Make sure you pop into the store as it is quite interesting, it is set in an old pre-war building built in early 30s (you’ve gotta love the high ceiling), and decked out in contemporary Scandinavian fashion (of course). If you’re not quite ready to trek to Prince Edward, Lagom will be at the Conrad Christmas pop-up store held at the Ballroom of the Conrad Hotel in Admiralty on the 21st of November.
