Chanel recently opened their new boutique at the Hong Kong International Airport’s Terminal 1 departure zone. The 4,500 square feet two-storey standalone boutique is designed by New York-based architect Peter Marino to express the Parisian elegance and Chanel’s signature timeless modernity. It features a distinctive white façade that boldly contrasts with the black stone wall. The shop has an internal white marble staircase and features some artworks — a two-metre wide oval shaped gold ceramic sculpture called “The Big Glory” by Johan Creten, and German artist Heinz Mack’s specially commissioned serigraph can be found in one of the VIP changing rooms.
Handbags and accessories are showcased in a high-ceiling décor in Chanel’s iconic palette of black, white and beige. The second floor is where you find their ready-to-wear and shoe collections.
