Wan Chai boutique opens nautical shop in K11.
Everyone knows the trusty Breton stripe is a true wardrobe staple and now there’s a whole store dedicated to celebrating nautical fashion!
Kapok, the much-loved independent boutique in Wan Chai, recently opened a new shop in Tsim Sha Tsui’s K11 Art Mall entirely devoted to maritime style. The stripped-back breezy interior, playfully adorned with anchors, ropes, oars and life-belts was inspired by Brittany, the French seaside and idyllic summer holidays – no doubt influenced by Kapok’s French founder, Arnault Castel.
Alongside the infamous Breton striped tees (from Normandy’s iconic hundred-year-old brand Saint James), Kapok Sailor also stocks many other hand-picked smaller creative brands including Guy Cotten raincoats, Bensimon tennis shoes, Jack Spade and Teddyfish canvas totes and IOAN espadrilles – all ideal for any beach or boat holidays – plus homemade pastries from La Mère Poulard, French cosmetics from Graine de Pastel and Lost Marc’h and plenty of other cute knick-knacks themed around travel and exploration.
Overall, Kapok Sailor makes for a refreshing and unique shopping experience – perhaps you’ll even be inspired to take to a junk and sail the seven seas yourself!
