Asia Society is running the first major solo exhibition by the acclaimed Chinese contemporary artist Xu Bing. Titled It Begins with Metamorphosis: Xu Bing, the exhibition runs till the 31st of August.
Xu Bing is Vice President of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and his works have been shown in major international exhibitions. The artist is well known for his creative use of language, words and text in his artworks to discuss our understanding of the world.
The exhibition showcases some of the artist’s most important works as well as his latest creations to show how metamorphosis takes place in the artist’s creative process, which brings insights to Xu Bing and his art.
