Screensaver Exhibition at Gallery Exit

By   /  September 29, 2014

Gallery Exit is showing works by local artist Luke Ching Chin-Wai in an exhibition titled Screensaver.  The show is the artist’s first solo exhibition in Hong Kong in the last seven years, and is running from now till October 11.

Ching is one of Hong Kong’s most active conceptual artists, creating artworks that transcend conventional forms, restriction and control. He formulates a system of his own that, with a good mix of humour, responds and interrogates  cultural and political collisions that occurr in our city.

The gallery showcases a series of video installations, sculptures and photographs all anchored to the notion of ‘repetition’ – the fundamental and perpetual pattern of the screensaver. Screensaver, under the artist’s artistic articulation, is translated into a societal device imbedded deep beneath our contemporary life.
