Jia Youfu’s The Silent Poem Exhibition at Poly Gallery

Poly Gallery Hong Kong is showing over 30 masterpieces of Master Jia Youfu’s work titled – The Silent Poem to Hong Kong collectors and art enthusiasts for the first time in September 2015. The exhibition is part of a national tour of Master Jia’s paintings which include stops in Beijing, Shanghai.

Master Jia is one of the most prominent Classical Chinese painter. He is know for his monumental landscape painting of the Taihang Mountains. His paints his landscape in dark ink with dramatic verticals and burst of strong colours that results in awe-inspiring compositions of the Northern Song landscape.

The exhibition is comprised of a series of Jia Youfu’s over 10 metres long hand scroll paintings, which took four years to complete.  The painting shows the transformation of Taihang Mountains over the course of millions of years, the forming of its rich landscape of ravines, cliffs and canyons. He does this with great emotion and skill.  With more than 50 years’ experience painting, developed under his late Masters Huang Binhong and Li Keran, his work typically fetch a couple of millions at auction.
