Hong Kong’s Annual Creative Arts Festival Detour Kicks off on 28 November 2014

Hong Kong’s annual creative arts festival Detour is back again for 2014! Happening at PMQ on Aberdeen Street on 28th November to 7th December 2014, this exciting event brings together local and international creative talents in one huge festival of artistic vision. The event is held in partnership with Sweden and will unveil over 70 different onsite and more than 50 satellite events.

Highlights at this year’s Detour:

Jimmy Ming Shum Photography
The new generation photographer will reveal his Hong Kong Girls series at the event. The collection showcases portraits of several celebrities including Nicholas Tse, Zhang Ziyi, Joan Chen and many more.

Elaine Ng’s Biochromes
The British-Chinese multimedia artist whose works have been exhibited in art and design museums in major cities like London, Toronto, Paris, Dubai and Beijing will showcase her Biochromes series at Detour 2014. The series focuses on the examination of colours and dye.

InnoVentum – Giraffe V.II
PMQ in collaboration with Swedish technology company InnoVentum introduces their latest invention “Giraffe V.II” for the first time in Asia in Detour 2014. “Giraffe V.II” is the world’s most sustainable carport and provides renewable energy to charge electric vehicles and other devices. At Detour 2014, this installation will serve to enlighten on the future of environmental conservation technology.

ADA Dialogue: IMPerfect Creativity
There will also be a special interactive dialogue hosted by Arts with the Disabled (ADA) members. Titled “IMPerfect Creativity”, the session touches on sucjects such as individuality and self-expression through art.
