The Affordable Art Fair 2016 edition has officially kicked off. In order for you to make the most of the fair and make sure you don’t miss any of the line-up of activities and must visit galleries to check out at the fair, Elaine Wong from art website altermodernists.com have prepared a list of 10 things to do at the Affordable Art Fair. You have three days to soak up as much art as you can and maybe take home a piece of art you love!
1. Artify Gallery
Hong Kong based Artify Gallery are focusing on two-dimensional artworks like painting and drawing. Don’t miss out the series of sentimental works by emerging new talents this year.
2. ARTFUL by TEDxArtSalon
This year, Affordable Art Fair have lined up the first ever art talk in partnership with TEDxHongKong named ARTFUL where talents like The Connor Brothers, Cath Love, Fiona Lee will be speaking and performing.

3. Cancer Fund Auction
Affordable Art Fair has teamed up with Hong Kong Cancer Fund to raise money for free art therapy services. The auction will show 20 local artists from both established and emerging talents like Barbara Choi, Dirty Paper, Chan Kwan Lok and Vanessa Wong. This is art with a purpose.
4. FRESH Exhibition
For the first time ever, Affordable Art Fair will bring its its renowned FRESH exhibition to Hong Kong. This year, enjoy the stellar line up of works by international artists like Gloria Petyarre, Yaz, Nissa Kauppila, Dann Oude Elferink, Iqi Qoror and James Seow.

5. Giant Year Gallery
Local gallery Giant Year Gallery will feature ceramics works of skilfully made artworks made by contemporary artists. They are expected bring interesting works combining concepts and craftsmanship to Affordable Art Fair this year.
6. Quantum Contemporary Art
Quantum Contemporary Art established itself in the art scene in 1997. This gallery based in an Victorian laundry in Battersea and is expected to bring along their best figurative paintings and drawings to Affordable Art Fair. We can’t wait to see what they have in store.
7. Roy Lichtenstein’s Living Room
The Sovereign Art Foundation have set up an interactive photo booth inspired by pop artist, Roy Lichtenstein. Grab your friends, get posing and get some creative snaps to keep as mementos from the fair.

8. Special Projects Talks
Throughout the fair on Saturday, Australian artist Glen Clarke and local artists Ankie Fok and Joey Leung will present their installation works within a global context in different locations.

9. The Cat Street Gallery
One of our favourite galleries in Hong Kong specialising in contemporary art and known for supporting emerging artists globally is Cat Street. This year, the gallery will be supporting British Artist Adam Bricusse. It’ll be his second show in Hong Kong – keep an eye out for his signature symbol and literal ‘stamp’ of a Scarab.
10. Young Talent Hong Kong Exhibition
Young Talent Hong Kong has some of the coolest contemporary artworks on display, from the likes of local artists like Julvian Ho, Vaan Ip, Lai Chung Man Andio, Lung Yuet Ching, Joyce, Ng Sum Chi, Siu Wai Hang, Donna Tam, Wong Wing Chun, Wayne, Jovial Yeung, and Yiu Chi Leung. To get in the know about names to watch, this is the event to be at.
