Hei Lau – Rising Hong Kong Designer

By Roxanne  /  July 4, 2014

Hei Lau is a fashion graduate from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University who launched her own label in 2009.  The label is aimed at women who know what they like and is starting to get talked about in fashionable circles.

She pays attention to technique and uses natural, fluid fabrics that drape nicely over the body. Her label has softer pieces ideal for work and edgier pieces suited to nightlife. Both are sexy and sophisticated.  And we love that she’s also an eco-conscientious designer, creating fashion from recycled fabrics and redesigning second-hand clothes.

The designer has shown her collections at Macau Catwalk Show, Taipei in Style, and Mercedes Fashion Week Sydney. This year she is nominated for the International Woolmark Prize, which is big on the list of fashion accolades – previous winners include Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld.
