What the Duchess of Cambridge is wearing.
Ever since that wedding dress, we’ve been fawning over KateMiddleton, The Duchess of Cambridge’s style choices and her current North American tour with Prince William is adding daily fuel to the fashion fire!
Some accuse Princess Kate (as we’re calling her) of being boring, yet the fact that everything she wears sells out means she must be doing something right. Frankly, we find it refreshing to see a young female who isn’t slavishly following every trend or showing off as much cleavage as possible at every opportunity, yet is instead cultivating her own elegant and refined style.
Our favourite outfits so far:
Kate and Erdem are a match made in heaven – Erdem makes lacy florals that are anything but mumsy. Both these dresses (in Kate’s seemingly favourite colour, blue) are elegant, feminine but still modern.
We love that Kate isn’t afraid to recycle her dresses – this white Reiss Nanette dress looked gorgeous in her official engagement portraits and looks just as gorgeous here. Note the power of great accessorising, with a red maple leaf Lock & Co fascinator, stunning Anya Hindmarch fan clutch and ruby red Hobbs heels nodding to the colours of the Canadian flag, which breathe fresh life into the ensemble. Eagle-eyed viewers will also spot the Canadian maple leaf broach, borrowed from the Queen herself!
This nautical 1920s-style cream cable-knit dress by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen has an almost Chanel-feel to it. Sophisticated, chic and just a little bit quirkier than the rest of Kate’s usual choices.
Those longing for Kate to inject more colour to her wardrobe finally got their wish with this vibrant purple jersey Issa dress. It’s a simple flattering shape that lets the colour do all the talking; we just wish we had the figure to make jersey look this effortless!
