Recently “consciously uncoupled” Gwyneth Paltrow is usually known for her sleek classic style on the red carpet so it is nice to see her going a little bit more quirky with her outfit in the film, Duets (2000) which amazingly enough is spot on trend for Spring 2014 with her cropped tops, pink and a little bit of beaded embellishments. The look is actually great for the music festival season but also can be made into a sleek sexy city look for those who are not afraid of showing a bit of midriff.
Butterboom Picks
For our Butterboom picks, we have gone for a cropped top set which is less embellished and focuses on a more body-con silhouette. Great for a night out or a special date where you want to dress to impress. Inspired by Ms. Paltrow, we have chosen a pale pink (with a hint of ombre) set by Jonathan Simkhai (a designer born and raised in New York and a Parsons graduate). We are matching it with a great set of heels and some cool bracelets. Keep away from necklaces to avoid detracting from the neckline and to avoid cluttering up the sleek silhouette. Choose a clutch and if you are feeling a bit cold, sling a floral coat over your shoulders for the Spring look!
