Pringle of Scotland is a knitwear house founded by Robert Pringle in 1815 in Scotland. The company was the first company to introduce knitwear as outwear, to create the iconic argyle print, and more recently, the first to introduce 3d printed knitwear.
Pringle of Scotland grew to fame when they introduced the first argyle print, which was worn by the Duke of Windsor. Soon after, inspired by golfers, they retailored a sporty two piece cardigan and sweater set worn to create a twinset and become hugely popular with the fashionable set of that time.
The brand was worn by Grace Kelly and Brigitte Bardot in the past and now by actress Tilda Swinton.
