Italian fashion label Marni was founded by Consuelo Castiglioni in 1994. Named after her sister Marni, Castiglioni launched her first fashion line in 1994 and became known for creating wearable fur. It was husband’s family fur company that inspired her to work with fur for her first collection. Her designs have evolved over the years and today, the modern Marni is known for their designs using rich textures and prints, chunky footwear and crisp lines. Marni has a signature style that can be described as bold, eclectic and quirky through her use of geometric shapes and flower prints, contrasting colours and textures.
In 2012, Marni was acquired by the OTB, the holding group of Maison Martin Margiela, Viktor & Rolf and Diesel. Consuelo Castiglioni still remains as the designer and was ranked in 2010 as one of the 100 most creative people in business.
Marni retails in 16 countries and offers womenswear and shoes.
