
One of the most influential shoe designer of all time, Manolo Blahnik was born in the Canary Islands but left for Pairs in 1938 to become a set designer. His passion for shoes began during his trip to New York in 1973. A chance encounter with Diana Vreelan, then American Vogue Editor, inspired him to move to London to design shoes.
In 1973, he opened a shoe boutique in London and fame grew for his heeled leather sandals. He designed shoes were stylish and elongated the legs. Blahnik’s shoe designs are still popular today and are often seen gracing the catwalk of runways. His shoes gained cult status when it was frequently featured on the hit TV show Sex and The City.
Today, Manolo Blahnik has a stand alone store at Elements and Landmark in Hong Kong and you can also buy his shoes at Lane Crawford.
