
Launched in 2006, Taiwan born New York designer Jason Wu rose to fame as the designer of Michelle Obama’s Inauguration gowns.
Jason Wu started designing clothes for dolls when he was 9. He followed his passion and enrolled at the prestigious Parsons School of Design. After graduation in 2006, he launched his own label with a collection of beautiful feminine dresses. When Michelle Obama choose to wear his white gown at the inauguration of President Obama, he became an overnight sensation. Wu continued to design for Michelle Obama and some of the most famous actresses in the world including Julianne Moore.
Since the launch of his first line, he was awarded the Fashion Group International’s Rising Star in 2008 and in 2013. Besides designing for his own label, he is also the Designer for womenswear at Hugo Boss. Wu’s designs are currently sold at Lane Crawford.
