
Harvey Nichols is a luxury fashion store founded by Benjamin Harvey in 1831 in London. It started as a small textile shop in London selling linen, however when he died and his wife took over the business, she went into partnership with James Nichols to form Harvey Nichols & Co. The textile store was demolished and a new department store was formed.
Harvey Nichols soon became the place to shop and attracted the high profile individuals like Princess Diana. Most of the floors was devoted to fashion and soon Harvey Nichols became known for introducing luxurious fashion labels like Max Mara and Nicole Farhi to the public.
Today, Harvey Nichols is a fashion powerhouse selling a variety of selection of international brands. Buyers pick the best from the runways of Paris, Milan and New York to give stylish shoppers a store full of trendy fashion. With a stable of international designers from Balmain, Karl Lagerfeld, Nina Ricci, Emanuel Ungaro, Matthew Williamson and some of the most exciting young designers today like Phillip Lam, Rodarte and Alexander Wang, Harvey Nichols has become a serious fashion destination.
In 1996, Harvey Nichols Group plc was listed on the London Stock Exchange, and has 12 stores situated in major cities like London, Dubai and Istanbul. Currently, they offer menswear, womenswear, accessories, bags, shoes and jewellery.
Their Hong Kong store opened in October 2011 and today there are 2 Harvey Nichols department store in Hong Kong.
