America’s favourite retailer Gap was founded by husband and wife duo Donald Fisher and Doris Fisher. The Fisher family opened their first store in 1969 in San Francisco and attracted young buyers for their affordable American styled casual clothes. Gap sold casual basics like shirts, jeans, skirts in different colours, a winning formula that has made the company a global success.
Today, Gap has over 1,700 stores worldwide and continues to be a leading global retailer with several brands under Gap Inc, including Gap, Banana Republic, Athleta, Pipeline and Old Navy.
Gap opened the first flagship store in Central, Hong Kong in 2011 and offers clothes for men, women and kids alongside accessories and bags.
