Antonio Marras is an Italian fashion designer famous for his eccentric print designs.
Marras was born in Sardina and trained as an accountant. However when he took over his family’s textile store, he wasn’t interested in counting beans and instead with basic dressmaking skills, he was soon designing and selling the clothes he made in his store. Customers loved his well made clothes and his womenswear and couture line became well known for his excellent craftsmanships and flamboyant designs which are influenced by his Sardinian roots.
Recognised for his exceptional skills, he was awarded the Francesca Alinovi award in 2001 which lead to his big break in 2003 where the designer was invited by the LVMH group to work at Kenzo as head designer. This lasted for 8 years and currently he works on his own brand’s women’s line and Laboratorio, a handmade collection of clothes created by a team of skilled artisans.
His clothes are sold at The Swank, Lane Crawford and Harvey Nichols in Hong Kong.
