We are proclaiming soft pink the new nude for fall 2013. Soft pink is a great colour to incorporate into your wardrobe this fall. It works as a soft contrast to the boyish silhouettes, fabrics and darker shades that are dominating the runway and collections at store this fall.
Stylist and founder of DressMeBlog.me, Jasmine Smith, talks us through how to wear this beautiful shade of pink.
The tone is incredible somber, it has a vintage appeal to it which is perfectly juxtaposed against modern designs and has a wonderfully softening effect when styled right. This ultra-feminine shade can be worn in a number of ways this season, here are a few options to consider.
1) A Coating of Pastel Pink
Worn as a coats it is a fabulous substitute to your classic beige or black coat. 2013′s dusky pink is a shade that works in well with colours of equally soft tones. For those with a fondness of bold colour matches try purple or mustard. A soft pink actually doesn’t leave too much room for colours clashes! In fact, try it with a deep or bright red, the combination is exotically grande!
2) Pastel Pullover
The casual pullover (or jumper) in a shade of soft pink is safe way to wear this colour if you’re wanting to try this seasons soft pink, but aren’t completely ready to commit to a coat, then start with a simple pullover.
3) Add a Hint of Pink to Your Outfit
Pink really is a fabulous alternative to the classic neutral tones of black, white, beige and grey (and also work wonderfully next to them!). Choose a nice soft blouse or billowy loose light pants or skirt.
You can also wear this shade with your accessories. Swap out your neutral bag for one with a slight sherbet hint of pink to it, or put on a pair of loafers with a shade of soft pink. It’s a colour that will merge in more easily than you imagine with your already established colour collections and will help you look on trend this season.
