It’s time to stock up on comfy, gorgeous wedges.
From what we see, wedges are out in full force this spring! And there’s no wonder why. These darlings give you the added height, are kinder to your feet than stilettos, and not to forget, sturdier too (so you don’t have to totter about on those killer heels and quite possibly break an ankle).
Options range from cork to leather and wooden wedges in all kinds of styles. Some are casual and sandal-like, like the ones from Stella McCartney and Tory Burch. While some are flirty, like the thong wedges from Sergio Rossi or the ankle tie snakeskin print peep-toes from Lanvin. We find Rick Owens’ all-black leather wedges rather interesting with its frayed organza trimming that adds an avant-garde finishing touch. Then, there’re also those which are whimsical and pretty outrageous (read: Rodarte’s elaborate hand-carved wooden wedges), but perhaps a tad too eccentric for most tastes.
