US designer Thom Browne collaborated with British milliner Stephen Jones for a special showcase to his Autumn/Winter 2014 runway collection. The theme was Animals and Hunters which involved Stephen designing exquisite headpieces which incorporated animals that were hunters and prey. This is in keeping with the hunting theme of Thom Browne’s modern take of the country gentleman with a mixture of traditional fabrics such as tweed and velvet but with a modern twist.
The exhibition is exclusively held at the Joyce New World Tower store. It consists of the key looks from the runway and inclusive of the amazing pieces by Stephen Jones.
The Exhibition Space was covered in variations of Thom Browne’s signature AW14 leaf print.
The Bear Catching the Salmon is the favourite Stephen Jones piece, along with The Badger and Rabbit Ears in a playful re-interpretation of the traditional animal head mounting.
We were also given a glimpse of some samples of Thom Browne’s ready to wear collection which continues with the hunting theme. Look out for the sweatshirts and sweatpants with the foxhound and fox motifs. A small selection of the women’s wear was shown too and leaves fashionistas excited…
The exhibition will be held at Joyce until 3 July 2014.
