Following the success of its Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie collection at SIHH2015, Montblanc presents two new complications under the same collection, this time a chronograph with an annual calendar and the other a manufacture date complication.
The Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie Collection Twincounter Date is powered by the MB24.23 automatic calibre with a 38-hour power reserve. Its date function is indicated in a subdial rather than the traditional date aperture. What’s also unique in this design is its blued-steel date hand and a red ‘60’ numeral, creating perfect colour harmony across the dial. At only 9.85mm thick, this version features a 40mm polished steel case, curved horns with satin-finishing on the inside surfaces, a silvery-white sunray finish, facetted sword hands and red gold-plated applied indexes and prominent Arabic 12 and 6 numerals.
Meanwhile the Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie Chronograph Quantième Annuel is a new combination with an annual calendar that only need setting once a year at the end of February. Like the other timepiece, this design features all its chronograph-related hands in blue and the hands for the hours, minutes, seconds and calendar functions in plated red gold. A sophisticated moonphase complicated has been included in a counter at 3 o’clock, displaying the four principal cycles of the moon via four individual red gold-played moons. Its highly polished 42mm red gold case is fitted with an alligator leather strap crafted by the Montblanc Pelletteria in Florence.
