Luckily for you (and guys, this one is for you too!), we have narrowed down the list so that you know exactly where to go for what. Finding that perfect piece of jewellery just got a whole lot easier!

Legends in the industry, Van Cleef & Arpels have been crafting fine jewellery since 1906 and have been worn by icons such as Princess Grace of Monaco and Barbara Hutton. They are well known for their instantly recognizable Alhambra design, Ballet Dancer designs and the ethereal Perlée collections. The latest Perlée Couleurs collection features rose gold and a selection of Autumn themed semi-precious stones including, Tigers Eye, Malachite and Onyx. One of the most well known and respected brands in jewellery, Cartier has maintained this reputation over time due to consistently designing forever pieces. Designs such as the Love Bracelet, Trinity Ring and the more recent Juste un Clou bracelet with its bent nail design that has been seen on almost every fashion editors arm, are style staples. The same can be said for the rest of the collections, with vintage art deco era designs still being auctioned for above their original prices. Big, bold and unapologetically glamorous, Cartier designs are made for people who want to stand out. A Cartier diamond is an investment to say the least, but for the more frugal who still want to own a piece of the legendary brand, you can pick up a gold piece for under HK$20,000.

Mikimoto is Japans most famous luxury pearl brand. This is the place for top quality pearls and exquisite designs. The brand was founded by the pearl master Kokichi Mikimoto, who became the first in the world to successfully culture a semi-spherical pearl in 1893. Since then it has expanded globally to include stores on prestigious Fifth Avenue in New York, Place Vendome in Paris, and New Bond Street in London. A Mikimoto design is very feminine, and as such they make great gifts on occasions such as mothers day or as a baby gift, but this is not the place for someone who appreciates more robust styles. We think that a black singular pearl necklace is a great investment piece and can be worn with almost any outfit.

David Yurman is a brand with a fascinating history. Founded in the 1970’s by David and Sybil Yurman, the inspiration behind the first collection hails from the two founders beginnings as artists- in particular their ventures into sculpture. From there the David Yurman brand has gone from selling boutique once-off pieces to a global jewellery brand that is synonymous with sophisticated and modern style.

The brands famous ‘cable’ design makes an appearance throughout their range of necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings and watches and is the connecting element and hallmark of every DY collection. The first major designer to set diamonds in sterling silver, hence revolutionising the world of fine jewellery, DY continues to create stylish and well priced men’s and women’s silver pieces that have been seen on the likes of Kate Moss, Gisele Bundchen and Naomi Watts.
