Karl Lagerfeld, Marion Cottilard, Jean Paul Gaultier, Sophie Marceau, Coco Chanel, Monica Belluci, Anthony Wong, Fan Bing Bing and the list goes on – these are just a sample of the stars photographed by Studio Harcourt Paris, the number one studio founded in 1934 by Cosette Harcourt offering a trademark photography style. In fact, French philosopher and critic Roland Barthes once wrote, “In France, you are not an actor if you have not been photographed by the Studio Harcourt Paris.”
Inspired by black-and-white cinema and the Parisian elite, this studio captures the essence of the subject’s soul and depth using tungsten lighting and 24 X 30 prints of the 1930s films. Negatives of the celebrities by Studio Harcourt Paris are stored at the National Archives of France. Studio Harcourt Paris has also done publicity shots for labels like Chanel, Lancel, Mercedes and Dior.
From 27th to 29th September 2013, you can now have a taste of what the prestigious photography studio can offer with its pop-up studio at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong. Hong Kongers can have their chance to sit in for their very own Studio Harcourt Paris portrait and experience the luxurious services and results. Prices start at HK$25,000.
