New Fitness Activities for 2016

By Lau  /  January 15, 2016
Its a new year and many of us have New Year resolutions to get in shape, to be healthier or even just to do something different. With all the fitness options available now in Hong Kong, there’s no need to go to the gym or do yoga if its not your thing. The key thing is to do something you love. We have a list of activities that will get your heart pumping and body sweating a little but most importantly they have a fun factor to it. So do something different this year or just mix up your fitness routine for a bit of variety!

AcroYoga merges acrobatics with Thai massage and yoga to improve body strength and flexibility. Acroyoga takes yoga to a whole new level, unlike traditional yoga, acroyoga is interactive yoga where you need 3 people to do the workout. There are 3 roles in acroyoga; the base, flyer and spotter. Using their feet or hands, the base lifts the flyer off the ground to get into position whilst the spotter is to keep everything safe during the session (students interchange between the roles). Classes lasts for 1.5 hours and is  physically demanding as it involves lifting another person, stretching and balancing. Its a lot of fun and a great team sport as everyone depends on each other to do the moves.

Lessons last for an hour. Its a great way to get a full body workout, increase your body strength and learn self-defence.
