Born Leandro or Leo Cerezo, 28 year old Lea T is the first transgender model to make waves in the fashion world. Lea T has been selected to appear in Givenchy’s new fall campaign with models Mariacarla Boscono, Malgosia Bela and Joan Smalls.  Givenchy’s creative director, Riccardo Tisci had hired Lea as his assistant and as his fit model behind-the scenes before putting Lea in the brand’s new campaign.

Discovered by Tisci,  raves about Lea, ‘She’s a true goddess and has always been very feminine, super fragile and very aristocratic”.

She has since appeared in Italy’s Vanity Fair and French Vogue’s editor Carine Roitfeld had Lea posed nude baring breast and only partially covering her man bits. Lea is said to had agreed to pose for French Vogue in the name of all her transsexual friends.

We think this is a brave and extremely bold move but question the necessity to bare as much as she did. Has French Vogue gone to far with this or do we need to be confronted with this revelation so starkly?
