Bono from U2 has teamed up with design pioneers Sir Jonathan Ive, KBE, and Marc Newson, CBE to auction off selected customized design pieces to raise money for charity at a RED Auction. This auction will celebrate the best of design and innovation and will be held at Sotheby’s New York on 23 November.
Going under the hammer – is a custom Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos 561 clock with red accents created specially for the auction and a Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox Tribute to Deep Sea watch with a red dial and (RED) logo engraved on the back of the watch. Proceeds from the auction will benefit The Global Fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
The Atmos 561 clock first launched in 2008 from a collaboration with Newson and the watch manufacturer while the Memovox watch was first revealed in 1959 as the very first automatic diver’s watch equipped with an alarm.
