Hong Kong’s all abuzz with the number of new American clothes stores flooding our fragrant harbour and now there’s a new one to add to the list – Hollister, which has just opened its first Asian branch in Festival Walk.
Hot on the heels of fellow American imports American Eagle, Gap, Forever 21 and Hollister’s parent company Abercrombie & Fitch, which have all pitched up here (or are about to) in recent months, Hollister is bringing its trademark SoCal surfer style to our shores.
The 10,000 square store is kitted out with a video wall featuring footage of surfers riding the waves at California’s Huntington Beach and we’ve already heard reports that a pair of buff surfer dudes are stationed at the shop’s entrance!
Expect plenty of the laidback beach-inspired pieces that have made Hollister so loved in the States (think American Eagle crossed with Abercrombie & Fitch and you’re pretty much there) – distressed jeans, denim shorts, printed tees, preppy polos, checked shirts, flip-flops, summery fragrances and impossibly gorgeous shop assistants galore.
Hollister seems to be going down a storm in Kowloon Tong already – there were twenty-strong queues on opening day! Will you be joining them?
