The Dark Knight Opens in Hong Kong

Now you can see what all the noise was about from his visit last year.

The Dark Knight opens in cinemas (and IMAX) across Hong Kong today (1-day before even the US gets it)! As you recall from our coverage of the press conference from last November, director Chris Nolan and stars Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman were in Hong Kong (Central, specifically) to shoot a sequence for the film.

We can only imagine the scenario: to conceal his Batman identity, Bruce Wayne flies to Hong Kong for a luxury shopping trip and runs into The Joker at the same sale at the IFC mall. The ensuing rooftop fight has him jumping off the IFC and soars down to Lan Kwai Fong where he parties with the ladies until dawn.

Also of note, the notorious Edison Chen resurfaces in a very small role in the film. We think, if you don’t blink, you’ll see him. Let’s see if the 2 sentences he gets to utter gets him a Maggie Q-type career.
