Did you know that 111,690 tonnes of textiles are being sent into landfills each year? Shocking, isn’t it? If you want to do something about it, here’s something easy you can start with – from 6 to 19 November 2017, Redress is collaborating with Miele in a city-wide clothing drive with a mission to re-direct as many unwanted clothes away from the landfill to a more useful function. Clothes collection will be donated to local charities including the Christian Action, Friends of the Earth (Hong Kong), Pathfinders, Green Ladies and Green Little of St James’ Settlement, and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.
If you have secondhand clothing, shoes and accessories that you want to donate, you can drop them off at the following locations:
- Caelum Greene, 90 – 92 Hollywood Road, Central
- Miele Experience Centre, Lee Garden Six, Causeway Bay
- PizzaExpress, K11 Art Mall, Tsim Sha Tsui
- PizzaExpress, Yoho Mall, Yuen Long
- Pizza Express, V City, Tuen Mun
Time to clear those closets and do a little bit of good for the environment!
