Design duo and brothers, Eri and Philip Chu have released their GroundZero Autumn/Winter 2014 collection showcasing a versatile range of looks with an eye firmly on the future. Playing on the concept of old vs. new, the designers found inspiration in childhood memories of cartoons and combined these images with modern techniques.
Oversized coats, rounded shoulders and armour-like paneling are juxtaposed against feminine form-fitting dresses. Distorted graphic prints are merged with wool, matte neoprene and reflective fabrics such as satin and silk, while the brands signature irregular-cut silhouettes are a strong feature throughout. We are loving the use of graphic print, feminine flared skirts and pastel colours- three trends that are hot for 2014.
Putting a modern twist on wardrobe staples, GroundZero have created a collection that is incredibly wearable without fore-fitting the contemporary aesthetics they are known for.
