Ferragamo Shoemaker Exhibition

Salvatore Ferragamo L’Icona Project Customised Shoes
By Butterboom Writers  /  April 25, 2014

To celebrate its iconic Vara and Varina shoes, Salvatore Ferragamo presented the L’Icona Ferragamo project that allowed shoe aficionados a chance to discover the behind-the-scene of the making of the shoe. This unique exhibition — which took place at the Ferragamo boutique in Hong Kong Pacific Place on 8 to 10 April 2014 — featured an expert craftsman specially flown from the Florence workshop to demonstrate the fine art of shoemaking.

To further celebrate those stylish shoes, the luxury house also invited 15 of Korea’s top female celebrities to the L’Icona Ferragamo Project, featuring them with customised Vara or Varina tailored to their specific personality and lifestyle. The celebrities were photographed by Korean photographer Seihon Cho.

If you would like to own a customised pair, check out Ferragamo’s website to order your Vara or Varina in glass flower patent leather (in a wide array of colours from Oxford Blue to Ruby Red, Blush Pink, Grape, Storm and Plume) or in grey tweed. Made-to-order Vara mid heels are at HK$5,950 while made-to-order Varina Ballerina at HK$5,600.
