There’s always been a symbiotic relationship between Hollywood and fashion where both industries play inspirations for one another. Fendi’s latest cinema collaboration with director Wes Anderson is just another fine example of this.
Always associating itself with the world of cinema, the Italian house has been roped in to create the illustrious costume for the director’s latest movie, The Grand Budapest Hotel, starring Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton and Ralph Fiennes. Working on the sketches of award-winning costume designer Milena Canonero, Fendi has crafted some of the most impressive costumes for the movie, including a big double-breasted military style coat in grey astrakhan (worn by Edward Norton), and a hand-painted Italian silk velvet cape with a black mink collar and sleeve detail (worn by Tilda Swinton).
The costumes – each one reflecting the movie’s late 20s vibe – were created in the Fendi fur atelier. Watch out for these fine costumes when you catch the movie.
