If you know your denim, then you would have heard of Donna Ida, the denim-based fashion brand by Australian Donna Ida Thornton. Dubbed the Jean Queen, the Aussie first moved to the UK in 1999 for a career in marketing before realising that her passion really lies in fashion.

So in 2006, she opened her first denim boutique in Chelsea stocking popular denim brands like Citizens of Humanity, 7 for all Mankind, Mih Jeans that became quickly popular amongst English stylistas. Four years later, Donna opened her second boutique in Belgravia. Not bad for someone who started her own denim brand because of poor service she experienced buying jeans in department stores!

Donna Ida_butterboom_3In 2012, Donna launched her own brand DONNA IDA – denim brand that comprises mostly of high-waisted jeans complemented by a range of ready-to-wear separates including cashmere and silk pieces. What’s great about IDA is that they’ve got just about everything and anything you need to pair your favourite blue jeans with so you can style up your jeans for both casual and glamorous night wear.  DONNA IDA  has 2 of her own stores in the UK, at Chelsea and Belgravia and is stocked at over 40 stockists in the UK including Harvey Nichols.

There’s no stopping Donna – her Autumn/Winter 2017 DONNA IDA collection has expanded to include a DONNA IDA lifestyle range including candle and nightwear collection. It’s no wonder why Donna has been nominated three times for Best Womenswear Boutique in the Drapers Awards and listed in the top 50 best boutique in Britain by the Telegraph. She was also shortlisted for the WGSN Global Fashion Awards for Breakthrough Brand or Retailer in 2011.

We will be bringing Donna Ida to Hong Kong at the London Designer Pop-up store in November, check out the range of items at our online store now to see what’s coming in store from 16 – 22 November 2017.
