A sartorial, feminine take on masculine tailoring.
The Italian fashion house CoSTUME NATIONAL recently presented its Fall Winter 2013/2014 collection at Paris Fashion Week. An evolution of the menswear line from Creative Director Ennio Capasa, the masculine tailoring and androgynous silhouettes showcase what is certain to be one of next season’s key looks.
The best thing about this collection is that it is made up of transitional, wearable pieces. Everything about the clothes is minimalist, from the clean lines and lean contours right down to the palette, which was largely monochrome with deep burgundy and navy blue accents. It looks like this fall will be all about wide mannish pants and layering; cropped jackets were worn over skirts which were worn over trousers.
Other trends that emerged during the fashion weeks crept into Capasa’s collection too; jackets featured fur detailing, while eveningwear was all about the bustier. Overall though, the stars of this line were the menswear inspired staples; comfortable and easy-to-wear basics that are understated but stylish.
