Swedish skiwear brand Peak Performance opened their first store at Harbour City in Hong Kong a couple of months back in September 2013. Peak Performance is one of Scandinavia’s largest and most popular sportswear brand with stores in over 26 countries and over 2300 retail points. They’ve only just started to expand into the Great China market with the Hong Kong store opening and two other stores in Chaoyang and Haidian districts of Beijing. Peak Performance  began in 1986 in Åre,the beautiful mountain village in the Swedish province of Jamtland when skiing buddies – Stefan Egnstrom, a World Cup  skiing champion, Peter Blom, editor-in-chief of the country’s top ski magazine and Christer Martensson, Designer and Jonas Ottosson decided to create a company to make ski outfits that not only looked good but was functional using quality high performance fabrics ski outfits, basically ski outfits that they wanted to wear. The brand took off when people wanted these outfits and Peak Performance is today known over the world as one of the top brands of skiwear. Since then they have extended their line to other outdoor sports line for mountaineering, golf and biking.

The Black Light 4 Season Jacket

Made for extreme conditions, this jacket was designed in collaboration with expert mountaineers Silvio “Gnarro” Mondinelli, Erwan le Lann and Edurne Pasaban to offer a jacket that addresses safety and function required of mountaineering. The jacket features 2 large chest pocket, pit zips for ventilation, pre-shaped sleeves for freedom of movement and one-hand adjustable hood with a zero friction.

The Chilkat Jacket 

Inspired by and designed for free-skiers looking for maximum flexibility of movement, the Chilkat uses the new lightweight 2-layer HiPe Ace fabric that stretches and is breathable and has a layer of ThermoCool padding that maintains a bit of a micro-climate on the inside. The design features plenty of ventilation zips, pockets and a helmet compatible hoot and comes in this season’s hot colours – fushia pink and orange. A great entry level ski jacket.
