Chic Parisian Labels to Watch: Claudie Pierot and Maje

Tips on labels we love in Paris.

If you’re planning a shopping trip to the city of love to avail of the summer sales, we’ve got the lowdown for you clever fashionistas. Besides heading for the luxury designer labels you can find here in Hong Kong, (okay, yes we know it’s cheaper there), be adventurous and discover some chic homegrown Parisian labels. Here are two we think you should check out:

Claudie Pierlot

The first thing we noticed in the summer sales is how Claudie Pierlot attracts the most stylish French customers. Girls in slinky jeans and bunned hair, perfectly-cut blazers and a simple men’s shirt…you get the picture. Pierlot has fans in droves and only retails in Europe, so this is definitely a must-have on your to-do list. The latest Spring/Summer collection is up for grabs at 30 to 50% off in major departmental stores like Le Bon Marché and Galeries Lafayette. Picture star-spangled georgette dresses and blazers with the same cute motifs, or post-boy shorts paired with a bow-tied maître d’ shirt and jackets in candy-floss pink tweed which will keep those breezy warm days sweet.

Now this is a name you may have come across – a major chain that spans Paris, from little warrens to the grand magasins. We love how sumptuous lady-like silk pieces make it work (in Tim Gunn’s words) for both work and play. Here’s some advice – work in the floral prints with simple staples to put a spring in your step on a sunny jaunt along the Seine. C’est magnifique!
