Graphic colour blocking and loose athleticism.
One of our favourite British designers, Antonio Berardi is known for his figure-hugging, hour-glass silhouettes and use of technical fabrics. These elements are present in his Spring Summer 2013 collection, although softened and diffused to make way for a graphic, flowing sportswear inspired aesthetic.
Outfits are layered; dresses are worn over shorts or cigarette pants and combined with beautifully cut cropped jackets that play with transparency and deconstruction. The feminine silhouette remains the signature look, but in this collection is is created using graphic elements with fluid hemlines.
Dresses resemble an abstract collage, with clever use of colour blocking drawing attention to the female form. The palette of cobalt blue, khaki green and off-cream with punches of neon pink, green and turquoise breathes vibrancy and playfulness into this collection, which is full of striking yet wearable items.
