A femme fatale collection that’s sexy and sophisticated.

One of the line-ups we were looking forward to at the Audi Fashion Festival 2011 Singapore was Antonio Berardi Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection. Dubbed a visionary in the fashion world, Antonio Berardi is noted for his sharp tailoring and form-fitting outfits that accentuate the female body.

The Italian-English designer of Sicilian descent was John Galliano‘s assistant before and made headlines with his infamous heel-less shoes worn by Victoria Beckham. He’s popular with the celebrity set: Megan Fox, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Alba are just a few of them and we can see for ourselves why.

The collection delivered a strong, femme fatale look that’s sexy and sophisticated. It showcased cutting-edge designs with rather structured, sculptural cuts. Oversized lapels on coats, as well as origami folds and pleats (and even perforations!) on short skirts add a flirty, playful touch while bringing an added interest and dimension to the outfits. Among a sea of cream, white and black, the red metallic floor-length gown was definitely a show stopper for us, what with its body-hugging form and high slit up at the front. Though a wee bit revealing, we love the black cocktail dresses in see-through lace.
