Coach SS 15 Celebrates the 70’s with Gary Baseman

The ’70’s are in. And we don’t just mean a smattering of influences here and there. We are talking bellbottom trousers teamed with killer platforms and yellow toned sunglasses framed by heavy bangs. Coach have nailed the look with their SS 15 collection.

Creative Director Stuart Vever looked towards the outbacks of America for inspiration and made use of a ‘sunset’ inspired colour pallet. Think shades of yellow and beige punctuated by bright sparks of blue, orange and jewel tone green. Versatile separates are the hallmark of this range; city shorts, light sport jackets and preppy mini-skirts can be re-worked in a myriad of ways.

To add a bit of fun and edginess, Coach commissioned award winning artist Gary Baseman to create illustrations for the collection. Baseman, who has won an Emmy for his animation work, adds a youthful injection with whimsical fictional characters seen on bags and t-shirts. The resulting look is undeniably carefree and modern, and demonstrates just how far Coach have come in their re-invention.
