Bag lovers will surely go crazy over the coveted pieces in Chanel’s Métiers d’art collection 2016/17. These bags are dazzling, one-of-a-kind and certainly art pieces on their own! The Métiers d’Art is Chanel’s pre-fall collection and is intended to demonstrate the skills of Chanel’s artisans and craftspeople. Well, these bags have certainly lived up to these claims with its stunning display of skills and creativity.

Inspired by the glamorous Ritz Paris, each bag is an interpretation of the smallest of details picked up by Karl Lagerfeld of what the Ritz is to him. Featuring colours like blues, reds, burgundies, orange, pink and metallics, and motifs reminiscent of the upholstery in a cosy salon or and the gliding in the bedrooms and suites, the bags have a character of their own in the most luxe of fabrics like tweeds and leathers that are similar to the interior textiles found at the hotel. Each one is so pretty it’s hard for us to choose a favourite!

But the ones that certainly caught our eyes are the iconic 2.55 in blue velvet or leather embroidered with ribbons in velvet, grosgrain and satin – talk about teasing us with texture – and the Chanel Gabrielle in velvet and tweed, two very classic styles that will go a long way in your style repertoire.
