An exciting blend of Spanish luxury and avant-garde Japanese design.
The Spanish heritage brand Loewe recently revealed a surprising collection created in collaboration with avant-garde Japanese designer Junya Watanabe Comme des Garcons. The unexpected union of high-end luxury and conceptual design has paid off though, resulting in an edgy, punk-inspired line mixing leather with denim, elegance with experimentation.
The collection was inspired by the idea of a bad girl or boy carrying a Loewe bag, of the clash between the luxury of high-fashion and a street-smart, sartorial attitude. Due to go on sale in August, the collaboration presents a range of casual clothes executed to the highest standards in a patchwork of Loewe’s napa leather and Watanabe’s tartan, polka dot and denim. The same combination of leather and denim can be found on the bags, which include Loewe’s signature Amazona, along with pouches, purses and a tote.
