Aquascutum has launched their Autumn/Winter 2014 campaign with a series of photographs that show its iconic Trench. Aquascutum, which translates in Latin as Water Shield, was founded in 1851 by tailor John Emary – who was responsible for pioneering the first waterproof wool fabric used to make functional trench coats for First World War officers. This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the Trench Coat.
In its new campaign, British actor Damian Lewis wears the seam-sealed navy wool single breasted Howell coat and British supermodel Eliza Cummings looks stylish in the oversized cloud-coloured Baxter coat. The pair are captured in black and white portraits taken under the iron arches of Macclesfield Bridge on London’s Regent’s Canal by fashion photographer, Alasdair McLellan.
A behind the scenes film and short Instagram film edit was also shot by Alasdair’s team, where Damian and Eliza are joined by Thomas Harvey, Head of Menswear Design.
