Aman’s new place in picturesque Hangzhou.

Amanfayun is the newest Aman property to open up in China, located in the village of Tianzhu, hidden in a valley by the West lake, a 20 minute drive away from Hangzhou’s city center. The resort is surrounded by tea fields, thick forrest and groves of bamboo and occupies 14 hectares of land that is both naturally unique and peaceful.

The 42 villa suites are all done in the traditional courtyard style with the original structures dating back to the 1800s which have been maintained and restored. Within them east meets west as elm furniture, lattice screens and fine calligraphy art pieces co-exist with the latest sound system and iPod docks. The property has been updated with Aman’s touch of luxury and attention to detail with a library, meeting room, 4 restaurants, a boutique and, very importantly, an Aman Spa.

This Spa consists of five separate buildings, eight treatment rooms, a reflexology room, a fitness center, a meditation room and a Finishing Salon for manicures and pedicures. Guests can enjoy massages and treatments drawn from traditional Chinese reflexology and healing therapies surrounded by the serenity and natural landscape of tea bushes, Magnolia trees and bamboo groves.

How much?
Village room starts at US$580 per night with the Amanfayun Villa going for US$2180 per night.
