Peeple – The Caller ID For Your Door

By Butterboom Writers  /  June 25, 2015

Here’s a device you want for your home. Imagine being able to see who’s at your door weather you are at home or not at home.  Peeple does for your door what caller ID does for your phone –screen who’s at your doorstep and monitor who enters and leaves your home. Come to think of it, it could work for the workspace too! You can see who clocks in to work early or late everyday…hmm maybe you want to keep this device quiet from your boss.

How does it work?
This wireless camera comes with sensors and a battery. What you do is mount the Peeple device onto the glass of your door or the peephole itself. The device then connects via WiFi in your home to notify you when someone knocks on your door or when your door opens from the inside or out.  As such it also functions as a security device.  The device contains a sound and motion detector that is activated to take a picture and send it to your phone. You can even be in another country and still receive a notification from Peeple, as long as you have a mobile device with a signal and have downloaded the free Peeple app for iOS or Android.

Peeple is created by Chris Chuter and his engineering friends from Austin Texas and is up on Kickstarter for crowd-funding. The minimum pledge to get a Peeple device is USD99 (available in white, grey and red).
