Coursera is an education platform that partners with top universities in the world to offer free courses online for anyone to take. Founded by 2 Stanford professors in 2011, Coursera have impressively reached over 10 million students worldwide and raised USD$85 million in venture capital.
Users choose from hundreds of courses taught by professors from the world’s top educational institutions like Standford University, Princeton University and The University of Zurich to name a few. There’s a range of courses to chose from depending on your interests, learn about the financial market, improve presenting skills by taking a Public Speaking course or learn how to write Chinese. Even though it’s online, you’ll have to be fully committed in order to learn as most courses are packed full material with video recordings of lectures weekly tasks and assignments. Don’t forget to check the schedules, as users may have to wait to get a slot into their choice due to popularity of the courses.
Most the courses are free but for specialised courses like Graphic Designs, there’s a small fee.
